Oil Infused Beauty

By Miss Makeup Magpie
Oils are featured within so many different beauty products that it can become overwhelming. So here's the ultimate guide on oil infused beauty...

When a product name carries the word 'oil' within the title, it can make those with oily skin feel a little apprehensive, in case they exacerbate their oiliness. However, there are so many different lightweight oils which can be used within your beauty routine such as Macadamia, Argan, Rosehip, Coconut and many more. In fact, beauty oils feature within skincare, bodycare and haircare products. That's why I've scoured Luxplus for the top oil infused beauty products they have to offer, and want to share with you the reasons why you should incorporate them into your routine!

Kicking off we have the perfect budget-friendly hair washing duo; the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo and Conditioner which are infused with African Macadamia Oil which works to deeply nourish and beautify the hair with lustrous shine and up to 5x silkier texture. The shampoo gently cleanses the hair without leaving your tresses feeling stripped of moisture. The conditioner is lovely and thick, and almost mimics a conditioning treatment as it's so incredibly nourishing – but when used together, they leave my hair feeling touchably soft and smelling divine

Every other time I wash my hair, I always reach for an hair mask and I cannot recommend the L'Oreal Mythic Oil Mask enough if you're on the hunt for the perfect hair mask. The Mythic Oil Mask is enriched with a sumptuous blend of argan, avocado, cottonseed and grapeseed oil, and manages to work its magic in just three minutes with incredible results. The consistency of the mask is pretty thick but it does spread evenly over damp hair. It instantly makes a considerable difference to the way my hair behaves and as a consequence, it's so much easier to style and is left feeling and looking a lot healthier; it's a true haircare saviour.

One of my personal favourite beauty brands is Macadamia Natural Oil and they are about so much more than just their award winning iconic hair oil. I really love the Macadamia Paddle Cushion Brush which combines the high shine and high-health benefits of natural Boar bristles with heat resistant ionic pins. The Macadamia Paddle Cushion Brush works perfectly when teamed with the Matrix Biolage ExquisiteOil Monoi Treatment at polishing and smoothing the hair. The Matrix Biolage ExquisiteOil Monoi Treatment is infused with Tamanu Oil and is a real multitasker as it strengthens and repairs weak, thin and damaged hair. It also works to eliminate any tangles and frizz whilst imparting a gorgeously glossy finish.

The oil smells absolutely heavenly and has a lightweight yet silky consistency which is easy to work through both damp or dry hair. You can choose to apply the oil to your damp hair to help detangle, protect from heat styling and lightly nourish the hair, or you can choose to massage the oil into your dry hair before bed and rinse in the morning for a more intensive nourishing boost. When using the oil in combination with the paddle brush, they really help to smooth my frizz-prone hair, and leave my hair looking a lot more sleek and polished making them a winning combination.

I had to include a trio of beauty products which you'd perhaps not know were oil infused, but nevertheless need within your beauty collection. Firstly we have a candle, which might sound like an odd addition, but if like me you like to burn a candle whilst soaking in the bath you'll love the MoroccanOil Signature Scented Candle! It is quite possibly the nicest smelling candle I've tried, as it has the same gorgeous scent as the MoroccanOil Treatment which I also love.

When doing your beauty routine, it's easy to neglect your lips and cuticles which often causes them to exhibit signs of dryness and discomfort. The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm is a deeply nourishing balm which contains Shea Butter, Palm Tree Butter, Essential Fatty Acids and Honey Extract. These nourishing ingredients help seal in moisture, and smooth and soften the lips. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm also contains Arnica Flower Oil which helps to heal dry and chapped lips. I like to apply a little of the balm to my cuticles too – making it a truly versatile beauty product.

My favourite cuticle oil is the ORLY Argan Oil Cuticle Drops which are enriched with an intensive blend of Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E to nourish and hydrate the nails, as well as soften and smooth the cuticles. The bottle features a handy dropper applicator, so you can simply squeeze out one drop of oil per nail and gently massage the oil into the nail and cuticle in a matter of seconds. The drops are lightweight and non-greasy, making it easy to apply the polish of your choice, without having waiting around for the oil to fully absorb. The drops also help to prevent unsightly dry skin and hangnails which is a nice added bonus especially in the cooler months.
